Live Music in White Bear Lake

Bars and taprooms with bands on — what night, and what time they actually start.

Finding a band on a given night

Live music around the northeast metro runs on a different rhythm than it does downtown. Rather than dedicated venues with a booked calendar months out, it's mostly bars and taprooms that host a few shows a month — which means the information lives scattered across individual Facebook pages, chalkboards and word of mouth. There's no single place that lists it, and by the time a show is announced it's often days away.

The listings below are what venues have told us they're running. It's the same data that drives the main site, filtered down to music.

Weeknights versus weekends

If you want to actually hear the music and hold a conversation, weeknight shows are the better bet — smaller rooms, thinner crowds, and often the same musicians playing a stripped-down version of a weekend set. Friday and Saturday nights draw bigger crowds and louder rooms, which is the right call if you're going out with a group.

One practical note: for outdoor summer shows it's always worth a quick check of the venue's own page before heading out. Weather calls get made late, and a patio show can move inside or get cancelled the afternoon of.

If your bar runs live music, add it and we'll get it on the map.
